More often than not, sexual abuse meted out to a woman is by someone close to them, worse still, a family member. Women, on the other hand, are conditioned to prefer the road of meekness and silence, lest they bring any shame to the family name or themselves. The short film uses the same concern as its premise to tell the story of a young woman trying to make a life for herself in an alien city. The plot attempts a notable engagement with its subject matter to present to the viewer a narrative of harassment, abuse and finally finding the courage within oneself to one day put a stop to oppression and cruelty. The film is expertly calm in its execution and portrayal. Furthermore, a strong performance by Tanya Gulati as the protagonist translates into a beautiful vulnerability on screen.

Repeat ties together two very unlikely elements - a slow day in a mundane Indian office, and time travel. How they will come to be within the folds of the narrative is gradually revealed as the film progresses. A man opens the door of his senior's cabin to find her in a perilous situation, and soon is about to get shot himself. However, before the deed could be committed, he wakes up from the dream on his desk. As events come to take place in a repetitive manner, he finds himself experiencing the same thing over and over again. Little escape seems possible out of it all, but just when the man has found himself at a dead end, another unexpected development takes place - a character arrives from the future. What will then be the fate of the protagonist and his colleague?

Titled ironically, the film takes us into the life of Sameer, and his many struggles as an aspiring actor. The protagonist has spent years trying to land himself a meaningful, meaty role, and yet, his acting career is far from any kind of stability. 
Other than the problems it causes in his marriage, Sameer also finds himself drowning in despair, frustration and righteous anger at being treated unfairly. However, even in the face of all the hardship, he is unable to let go of his dream, a choice that costs him dearly. The film, though not devoid of its rough edges in the overall production value, is a very dedicated endeavor in bringing all of these emotions to life. A pursuit overpowered by the dilemma of choosing between passion and practicality defines its primary conflict which, in turn, presents a battle all artists would relate to.

As our lives got confined indoors in a world battling a pandemic, it required of us some drastic changes in our lifestyles. Consequently, when a teacher is then forced to turn to video calls to hold his classes, a long road of struggle awaits him. The film, thus becomes a sincere account of his experiences that he puts in a letter to share with his life-partner.

What are the extents to which greed can drive a man? The first instalment of Dhoort is the story of
three friends who have big ambitions. With big businesses going for a toss in the pandemic-imposed
lockdown they see it as an opportunity to create a level-playing field. They chance upon a bag of gold
which belongs to a smuggler and decide to sell it to start their own business. The smuggler is an old lord
and will reclaim what’s his at any cost. With the gold in sight, greed and deceit begins to enter the
friendship as each one wants to flee with the gold. The answers will be found in the sequel.

Drawing attention to an act of kindness, the short film engages with an idea of helping others. It aims to communicate this by showing a man observe different people in the same situation. As he sits to have his cup of tea at a local stall, people of all age groups and social strata come and go. The different interactions and the protagonist’s observation of them further drives the point about the transcendence of giving. It surpasses all religious, cultural and financial barriers, reminds the film to the viewer, allowing it to be a social commentary on the act of helping each other out, especially in times of need.
