The film is inspired by Ke Bache Ke Bache, a popular Bengali short story by Manik Bandopadhyay.
Two employees get in trouble with the management and lose their job. They had complained to the
higher authorities about the ill-treatment of Subodh, their colleague at the hands of their manager,
Gopal. Subodh belonged to a lower caste, and was left to die of starvation as a result of being unemployed, without any other means to earn a living.
The film depicts the conflicts of the two men who are gripped by existential dread on the constraints of
mortality after witnessing a life lost from such close quarters.
