Circles

The title of the film can stand as a metaphor for several ideas. Is it the circle of existence? Is it a sense of entrapment one might find themselves unable to break out of while dealing with grief? Is it a suggestion of injustice and powerlessness and how they continue to replace each other in a constant cycle? Is it all or none of them?

The film simply presents its story to you, and allows you to make up your own mind. The protagonist is a chef who quietly shoulders a burden weighing down heavily upon her. She is awaiting a verdict that would determine the fate of a dearly loved one. The narrative exhibits an economy of dialogue, coupled with a notable performance of its primary character to delineate all of this. The approach and tonality remains consistent with these choices, as the story finally comes into its own, never allowing you a sense of ease or effervescence, much like how it's never allowed to the protagonist herself.
