Right from its opening, the film sets the tone of a well-meaning narrative, brightly-coloured with all the right emotions, and one that would come to stand for hope even in the face of intense heat and pressure of adversity. This allows the story context and more relevance in a world that has been battling a pandemic for the better part of the year.

The same sense of resilience when met with hardships is shared with the viewer by means of a poetic narration in which a woman recounts her experiences of learning pottery from her father. However, along with the skill of shaping urns, lamps and pots, her father also taught her important lessons and truths of life by using the clay and the several elements involved in shaping it, as metaphors. In the process, the plot comes to be imbued with warmth and intimacy, as well as an endearing portrayal of a bond that was shared between a father and his daughter, and the manner in which it has influenced her life for the better in adulthood.
