When the film opens, it reveals to us a woman's anger at her son for using the same spoon that she has segregated only for the use of the domestic help. Using the same object, a spoon, as its primary symbol, the film thus makes its thematic concern clear in the very first exchange it offers - the deep class divide that exists within Indian society. After this introduction, we are then taken into another equation which the protagonist shares with Ramesh, the delivery boy who works at the local grocery store.
As their dynamics is allowed an engagement in the film, the story makes a sincere effort to question the chasm that exists between different social groups, and ensures that one's financial standing triumphs over all other aspects of their personality. There is also the endeavor to tie it all together as a complete whole, in the process, allowing the film to leave the viewer with an important thought about the world we exist in, even after they are done watching the film.
