The film begins with a warning: stare in the dark for too long, and you will eventually see what isn’t there.

A man’s wife has died under mysterious circumstances. He has recurrent nightmares about losing her. He misses her, and perhaps, for that reason, sleeps on a couch in the living room instead of his bedroom. He shares with us that it is just his cellphone which keeps her memory alive for him; a sentiment that is ominous and powerful. This is, indeed, an interesting premise for a modern horror story and it does spook you off.
