The film is especially notable in the intimacy and honesty it brings to life with its two characters, Mitali and Shrey. They are presented to the viewer during a moment of agitation and tension. Insecurities are rife, as is the clear drifting of the two characters away from each other. The writing of the film is most crucial in portraying this reality in an impactful, involving manner. 
While the production value of the end result is a little limited in its resources, the heartfelt tonality, the attention to writing as well as the earnestness of performances very smoothly draw your attention away from it. At its heart, the film has a message as well as a reminder about relationships to leave the viewer with once the narratorial progression is complete.

Sunflowers and Tulips | Short Film Nominee

Gurnazar and Baani are a sweet couple that seems to be in a long distance relationship at first glance. As they speak to one another by going about their respective daily chores, the narrative is allowed to develop, introducing the viewer to the many nuances, moments and intimacies of their relationship. In the process, poetry, one's relationship with it, and the manner in which the characters look at memory as well as at the hopes for the future, are all portrayed for the audience to engage with. 
The film presents to you a devoted attempt at invoking the right aesthetic, along with a dedicated treatment of its thematic concerns. In the future projects by the team, however, it would be a welcome prospect to see tighter control on their writing and the manner in which the narrative reaches its conclusion.

Shared Space | Short Film Nominee

The Five Stages of Metta Bhavana is a short film which muses on the Buddhist meditation practice using an interesting analogy of one old, aesthetic rocking chair, and four plastic chairs that are painted white. As the narrator peacefully sheds off her insecurities with each rock of the comfortable, wooden chair, a glistening mirror appears on one of the white chairs, a shadow of the past on another, a commoner, member of the crowd on the next, and finally, a nightmare on the last one. 
The four elements represent various barriers one needs to cross to cultivate a loving, compassionate bond with nature and its beings- starting with accepting oneself and concluding with reconciling with the dark, hurtful past. The film advocates living in peace and happiness with similes that indeed go a long way.
