A young woman called Ameena arrives at her place of work, a small tailoring workshop, and immediately infuses the scene with discomfort. Something seems to be weighing on her, something which is far from the immediate reality of her imminent wedding. Portrayal of our protagonist’s thoughts reveal her conundrum, her love for a man, Kumar, who doesn’t have the same religious identity as her.
By delineating the woe and tribulations of the young lovers, the film quietly presents a comment on the many shackles that confine and withhold love, eventually concluding with a sense of perhaps wish fulfilment, in this world or the next, where these confines cease to exist.
