Addiction

The film opens with the image of a young boy in deep discomfort. He is restless and agitated and cannot seem to find that one thing that he is desperately looking for. Soon his parents enter the scene, trying their very best to keep him away from a particular object. It has been made clear by this point that the object in question is one that is deliberately kept away from the boy to fight an addiction. There are also suggestions of familial discord that perhaps led him to seek comfort in it.

While the film has set itself up for an important comment on addiction and its detrimental effects, it endeavours to undercut the viewer's expectations about the nature of this addiction at its climax, along with concluding with an important message to leave them with.
