Being on Camera is a Great Stress Buster: Shreya Gupto

From Tamil and Telugu to now Hindi, Gupto says being part of different industries has enabled her to be confident on camera.

I've been facing the camera ever since I was fourteen. I've been part of multiple industries (Tamil, Telugu, and now Hindi ) since childhood and that has made me confident in front of it. Eventually, I also realised that being in front of the camera is my biggest stress buster. I don't think of anything else, but the scene and how to justify it in every way possible. And the best part about this is that it all happens effortlessly.

Personally, I like to keep myself calm, without any inhibitions or assumptions about the part so that I can be moulded by the makers. Once I'm ready, I add a little bit of me, little bit of the techniques which I've learnt from my theatre experience and workshops, and focus purely on having fun on set with that character. I add my own inputs to the character created by the director and the writer which is why what you see onscreen is usually a collaborative effort.

I've ALWAYS wanted to be an actor. But as I'm exploring this vast industry, I'm fascinated by the art of writing and cinematography. I've not thought about either of them seriously though since my entire focus is on acting right now
