Leading Lines - Tanhayee | Dil Chahta Hai

Leading Lines are essentially lines that direct the viewer's gaze to the the subject in the frame. Consequently, the audience's line of sight follows a clear, neat path, allowing the filmmaker to draw attention to the most important elements of the story.

In the same vein, we can perhaps consider the song #Tanhayee from #DilChahtaHai a good example. In these specific visuals, the lines serve to enhance the emotional state of Akash who now finds himself heartbroken and isolated. Their converging pattern can then further be seen as conveying a sense of claustrophobia or things closing in on the character in an overwhelming manner.
