When talking about college life, the norm is to adopt a lighthearted tone, with a garnish of drama every now and then. Consequently, a show like Operation MBBS which shatters this mould, promises to infuse a fresh breath of air in the Indian web series space. With a potentially poignant portrayal of the struggles of the students of a medical college, it becomes an engagement with peer pressure, past traumas, familial expectations and the constant struggle to perform irrespective of them all. The short film has done the unthinkable - it has attributed sexuality to Indian mothers. This Mother's Day, it provides us with a much needed conversation on the intimate desires of a woman, irrespective of her age. As is true of many Blush videos, this one too intuitively raises questions on behalf of the audience - how can a middle aged mother have these desires? Is this even expected from her? How can she procure a sex toy? - and answers them all. It is wonderful in the manner it shows a confident woman, embracing her sexuality with no guilt or shame, and reminds the viewer that a woman's sexuality is no one's business except hers.

The latest offering by Blush is about the age-old debate - beauty versus brains. The discussion ties up with gender as two women argue if beauty for intelligent women is empowering or not. The film is simply a conversation between three of them, one for, one against and the third somewhere in the centre. They are made to sit side by side in a fixed frame, suggesting how they are all equals in this debate. It further offers a glimpse into the conversation around beauty which might not be entirely unique, but is much needed and imperative for us to go forward as a society.

After Little Things and What the Folks, Adulting is Dice Media's latest offering and is the story of two girls living in Mumbai. The show takes us into the lives of Ray and Nikhat as they navigate throught the many responsibilities of an adult in a fast-paced, urban lifestyle. It's a colourful narrative which is mixed with effervescent humour and the comical twists given to the many struggles of the two protagonists. Young, sparkly and full of energy, the show promises to be lighthearted entertainment at the end of a long day.
